Today's forecast

OK, can anyone remember thinking the metal roof was a good idea?

Unpleasant conditions prevail.

Blustery parenting and gale force children are expected to continue unabated well into Saturday. A deep low pressure system continues to adversely affect all craft and computer-based activities, as a ridge of high pressure to keep preschoolers amused indoors from sun-up until down, persists.

Mostly sunny. 43ºC/109ºF.

  1. I am feeling for you - the weather in Vic and SA is crazy!

  2. Oh I know this weather is just mad isn't it. Poppy is going crazy indoors and outings to the shops don't really count as interesting apperently.

  3. We managed to get outside this morning between 7.30 and 9 (when it hit 32degC-OMG!!), the boys were happy to stay outside but I convinced them to come in for breakfast with ABC kids. They have been going nuts kept inside when they are usually hanging in trees like monkeys and upside down on the climbing frame for hours on end. Their cousin is coming over for a couple of hours today so that will be entertaining! Good luck with keeping your crew and yourself on this side of the sanity border!

  4. We're just about to head to Shoppo in an attempt to drag ourselves out of any sort of pressure system.

  5. I know is horrible for you (and my other VIC and SA friends) but your forecast made me giggling! I hope you all get that cool front you so desperately need!

  11. You are too funny, as usual! Cool breeze currently blowing through house, but know it isn't going to last. Love the view from your desk last night, by the way.

  12. I have decided that I shouldn't complain about the heat any longer, after quickly realising that I had it easy. My experience of the 'fourties' is nothing compared to the two families I met today (we had kids returning to school). One family agreed it was really hot, but worse for dad who was working in the shearing shed. The other family said dad had been out fighting the fires in Branxholme in the 40+ heat!
    P.S.
....not really anonymous... it is your country bumpkin (blogless) sister!

  13. Similar forecast in these-here parts.... SO I'm opting out.

After two days of solo-parenting while the Daddy in the family worked in relative comfort, I'm handballing duties to Daddy so I can go to a stifling studio and attempt to sew..... wish me luck!

    word verification "horses" ...!

  15. Today was such a relief! I took the younger 3 out for a walk. It is tough for the kids to be couped up in the house for so many days.
