About me

Hello and welcome!  Hoppo Bumpo is my alter-ego and a bit of fun online.  My real name is Liesl and I live in the lovely city of Melbourne in the south east of Australia.

My main job these days is as a stay-at-home mum to two rowdy boys Argy and Bargy (not their real names!), who are 7 years and 5 years respectively. My life is filled with Lego, Star Wars and references to zombies.

To counterbalance the focus on Y-chromonsonal interests, I took my first dressmaking lessons in 2008. I've since become very fond of sewing and experimenting with new crafts.

Although primarily a sewing blog, I also write about the exploits of my two small boys; my lazy cooking habits; a not-so-green garden; food allergies; two adopted cats; and the perils of decorating children's birthday cakes.

In my previous life I worked in the corporate world as a Training & Development manager.
