Run boys, run

There's been little sewing
Since the mister took his leave
He packed a bag the other week
and left for overseas

Its been pandemonium
I've had no reserves left
For projects needing thinking
Or requirements to be deft

A new approach was called for
And its a good one, I should say:
I yell "Run boys, run!"
Throughout every day

No rests or being stationary
Not even a few seconds
Wear em out by day's end
Because sewing always beckons

  1. And yet you still come up with lovely words...
Good luck with tiring out those boys. They look to be the ages with excess energy. If only we still had that energy as grown ups.

  2. Oh yes. When things start going crazy in my house I banish the boys outside and tell them to run around. Boys, they need to run. Or things get destroyed. Can't learn that soon enough.

  3. Haha, that's a lovely poem. Goodluck with all the running. Are you running along with them? I hope there will be some quiet and peaceful sewing time for you again soon.

  4. Ok. Planning to employ same tactic when MY mister leaves me for almost two weeks in June. Should I just purchase a life-sized hampster wheel?!

  7. Maybe you could rig them up to generate some electricity while they're running?

  10. Try swimming too - always guaranteed an afternoon of sewing after a morning of swimming!
