I spy ... something that makes me happy
I am playing along with Cindy's Eye Spy meme each Sunday. This week the very talented Sharon of Iris and Lily asked us to spy something that makes us happy.
This weekend I have spied some old photos and have been very happy reminiscencing. Here are some from a day-trip to Quebec City for the wintery Carnaval.
On this particular February day, the sky was clear. And it was cold; very cold. Frigid.
My ears hurt and the moisture in my nose froze each time I inhaled. My toes ached. The skin on my extremities felt all prickly.
But the snowy street-scapes, handsome ice sculptures, delicate lighting and tiny silvery moon were very, very beautiful. Completely captivating.
Thank you to Cindy for hosting Eye Spy and to Sharon for the lovely theme. To see who else is playing, head over here.

I always wanted to go and see the sculptures. they are gorgeous (must remember to bring extra gloves and wear thermal underwear though, or find out where the nearest Timmys is so I could go and get a hot chocolate to warm up)
ReplyDeleteThose ice sculcptures are amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe moved back to Australia in June 2008 after 13 years in Canada. I SOOO don't miss the snot freezing in my nose in winter, but still a beautiful time of year nonetheless. Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteOld photos are definite happy makers! It is so nice to be taken back to happy times, love your photos!
