Will an intervention be required?
Hello. My name is Hoppo Bumpo. And I have a problem.
I keep chancing upon new and exciting crafts. I imagine each and every one of them to be the next big thing. I peruse the catalogs. Cruise the stores. Learn the lingo. Collect all the paraphernalia. Put it in a very large, purpose-bought craft box. Then store it away in a very dark cupboard.
Last night I went to the paper-craft equivalent of a Tupperware party. It was fabulous.
We learnt how to make a little gift voucher wallet from a piece of halved A4-card and a gift bag from an envelope. We used the stamps, the punches, the beautiful card-stock and inks. I loved it.
Ah, the catalogue is so glossy and full of promise ...

I found paper before I found fabric. Very very dangerous and fun. What sort of paper party was it? I'd love to host a craft party in Sydney
ReplyDeleteA paper party you say? Really? Now that's really really dangerous.... even more dangerous than tupperware and mary kay!
ReplyDeleteWho would have guessed it? Hoppo Bumpo addicted to creating!
ReplyDeleteMyself, I don't have a problem...I fully intend to use the lino and blades that cost me $50, as well as that massive stash of papers and yarns and fabric, and don't forget the gocco! Yep, I'm fine. No problem here.
Hi there. I am a Melbourne girl too. Guess what? I had a Tupperware party just this week. Fun. Fun. I would be even more excited to have a paper/craft party. What was it? Who did it? Sounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteoooo.... sooo true, my husband thinks i need an intervention! I get so obsessed with things and then i move on to the next thing, but all the while accumulating piles of crap associated with each obsession. But atleast i know if i decide to get back into beading i have hundreds of dollars worth of top quality beads and supplies!
ReplyDeleteYes yes I got sucked into them as well. BUT now I have curbed it seriously! I only bought stamps that I knew I would use over and over. Enjoy them and have fun.
ReplyDeleteI've been to scrapbooking parties before :P
ReplyDeleteI don't think you need an intervention, it's all just further proof that you LOVE creating! yay!
I am now going to a monthly 'Stampin up' party, where I get to create 3 things for $10 - awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe party was run by "Stampin up". It probably runs pretty much the same way that Tupperware et al operate I think!

Hi
ReplyDeleteI've been popping in to check out your blog for a little while now. You see, I'm a paper crafter who likes to dabble is sewing. I'm very very far from knowing what I'm doing with a needle and thread and my poor sewing machine gets used for sewing paper more than fabric(I hear you gasp. I'm on a home made christmas kick this year and your blog has provided some lovely inspiration and laughs. Thanks.
PS: A large collection of craft supplies does not require an intervention, just more space.
Oh my, I am so glad it isn't just me who has this problem! lol My husband calls them LUPs. Liz's Unfinished Projects ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of these projects! Looks like more fun than Tupperware.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem! Maybe we can start a support group!
