I spy ... what I want for Christmas

I am joining in Cindy's fun new I spy ... each Sunday. This week's theme is "... what I want for Christmas".

My wish for Christmas - apart from a lot of laughter, happiness and health - is to have ... an intact Christmas tree!

I absolutely adore Christmas trees, but with two marauding boys, what are the chances of the tree decorations remaining in situ by Christmas Day? Especially given the family history of meddling with the baubles (see above).

Last year we put the Christmas tree inside a playpen, but maybe we should be considering a roof-installed version of one of these?

Thanks for hosting "I spy", Cindy. To see what other people would like for Christmas, head over to Cindy's blog Bug and Pop.

  1. I am actually debating whether it is worth putting up the tree this year. Nobody else seems to care about keeping it nice, rather than disintegrating. Hmph.

  10. For Princess Curly-Wurly's second Christmas (13 months old) we had a potted, live, mini-tree which we put up on the dresser.

Not so bad with Destructo-Boy, he was 15 months old and perfectly content to leave it be so long as he had a hammer in each hand.

  12. Hello,
I just discovered your blog and am really enjoying it. I raised two active boys, who are now 26 and almost 30. We put our Christmas tree in a corner of our living room and my husband built a fence to complete the protective triangle around it out of welded wire with a strip of wood at the top.
    Thanks for the memory jog.

  13. Ollie is really keen to have a tree, but I suspect he'll spend the lead up to Christmas systematically destroying it! No glass baubles in our house this year :(

  14. I love that upside down tree - I want one!!

I have been advised by my parents that there will be no tree going up this year due to the imminent arrival of one crazy, red headed, bauble eating, tinsel pulling, tree knocking grandchild!

  15. I am so not sure how we are going to go this year, especially since we usually put the pressies under too. Perhaps not a good idea.
