Eye spy ... my favourite colour

I am playing along with Cindy's Eye Spy meme each Sunday. I'm a little late again, but this week the wonderfully creative Jemma of Amityville Boronia asked us to spy our favourite colour.

This was a hard pick - I'm not sure that I have one firm favourite. Colour preferences seem to be ebb and flow with time, the seasons, mood and whim. Being the good Melbourne girl I am, I cannot help but love basic black. But for a splash of brightness, jewel tones always seem to be in favour.

Surveying some recent shopping I can see red must be the It colour for now. In fact its a bit of a perennial favourite. If you ever see a woman with two small boys in tow, clutching an over-sized, much-loved, deep red leather bag (stuffed with Matchbox cars and sultanas) .... that, quite possibly, will be me.

Top: beautiful selection of fabric in a mix pack from the super talented Leni & Rose, at the Stitches and Craft Show.
Middle:
1000m Gutterman thread (clearly there are red projects afoot)
Below:
gorgeous new Papercuts fabric in Red and Black from the uber-cool Aunty Cookie, also at the show

Thank you to Cindy for hosting Eye Spy and to Jemma for the fun theme. To see who else is playing, head over here.

  3. Red is so in at the moment - I love it. I recently treated myself to a new purse which was a lovely deep red too - everytime I use it, I think "god you are a gorgeous red purse, yes you are". A red leather bag - that would be heaven.

  4. It's hard to state a fav colour because as soon as fabrics/threads are all laid out nice like that all colours look divine.
