Biased

I did it. But the question is should I have?

This evening I tried making my first bias binding. I'm embarrassed to say that it took me nearly two hours to come up with a scant 1.5 metres.

Do you see what I mean? Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should.

  1. You are right! I think that you can make it only when you want that bias tape, in that fabric...
Now you know you can, if you need a special one

  2. But the point is, you CAN! Looks great.

  3. Now that is a very good point. Maybe you get your time down with practice?

I've made tape myself & yes - it took ages. Plus I'm not a big fan of the iron anyway.

  4. Thats right, you can! I can't .... hahaha. Or should I say I have never tried...

  5. But look how pretty it is....it's definitely worth it!

  6. Well done, a whole 1.5 metres! I tried once and didn't make nearly that much before my fingers were too burnt by the iron to continue.

It's very very pretty, is it for a special project?

  7. looks good though, & I'm feeling better as it takes me forever to make bias!

  8. Have you got one of those bias making babies, they make it so much easier. Burnt fingers is part of the sewer badge fo honor though I think and I am such a wimp when it comes to heat.

  9. Drop in to the studio for a demo some time. It really can be the quickest thing to make with a bit of practise.

  11. Love the colour - what are you going to make with it?

  12. Great colour!

I agree with Nikki - once you've worked out a system for making bias, it won't take so long to do. I always try to make more than I need so I have leftovers ready for another project.

  13. I know what you mean, I'm still trying to work out a faster way to do it.

  14. Oooh I think it's definitely worth it - love it!

  15. I hope you did that with a maker!! Making bias tape without a maker is...tedious...and painful...when yu iron your own fingers all the time. :p

  16. Indeed! And conversely, just because you should, doesn't mean you can! :P
