Renovations
Yesterday the boys and I waved off Mr HB at the airport. The poor chap is off on business again.
What a trial to have to go away overseas for three weeks. That northern hemisphere summer will be difficult.
And I felt especially sorry for him, when I finally saw his itinerary. The bit described only as Weekend - New York sounds gruelling doesn't it? ( I don't think the dear man wanted me to worry, because he kept that leg of the trip quiet. So thoughtful.)
Never mind. I have a lovely surprise for him when he returns - I am sprucing up our house a bit! For details, see the plan above.

Shall I be brave enough to ask what you have renamed the kids bedrooms?
ReplyDeleteWe will have to catch up while the cat is away! Name your week0end
Do it, do it!!
ReplyDeleteIf he doesn't bring back some of the good stuff from overseas (by which I mean sewing related stuff, magazines, haby, fabric, fabric, .... fabric) you can make him sleep in the "delivery area" til he delivers.
Good luck for the 3 weeks.
Just to be on the safe side, maybe one of those rooms should be labelled "cell, padded"?
Cheers,
AJ
HA! I love it! Shall we just call the laundry what it really is - "fabric prep area?" tee hee! Have fun, and take care!
ReplyDeleteYou've got a flare for design - that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteLove these renovations! Just brilliant!!!
ReplyDeletehaha... he is in for a surprise on return.
ReplyDeleteYoou obviously have a good relationship with your builders to get all done in three weeks.
He'll be so happy when he gets home and sees that you've competely finished the reno!
ReplyDeletethe poor old thing, slumming it in New York, how dreadful for him, I think it is only fair that oyu renovate while he is away- he will only try and get in the way if you do it when he is around!
ReplyDeleteAt least you've already got a room dedicated to linen.
ReplyDeleteI'm coming to live at your place!!!
ReplyDeleteHilarious. Hope all goes well while the man is away. My man goes to Las Vegas and Amsterdam (wholesome I know) every year for "business". Next time he goes, I might try a little reno myself. I'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteI think it's perfectly reasonable to do those renovation while he is away. I hope you gave him a big shopping list though
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure he's going to love it!
ReplyDeleteThe MATH and I had a good laugh about your reno, but then he saw the look in my eye...Thanks for your brilliant suggestions...
ReplyDeleteDang! Looks a little like the 'reno' I'm currently undertaking at my kitchen table - yet yours is sooooo much better... call real living mag - they'll be sure to want to feature it!!
ReplyDeleteAre you changing the locks as well?! Another three weeks Liesl... I'm so sorry. Humour is the way to go. And revenge, obviously.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you and I could schedule a little three week European 'work trip' next year.
Hahaha you are such a laugh!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of 'Weekend -New York'. That city has stolen part of me and it only comes back when I visit!
Has he got a shed you can annex while he's gone too?
ReplyDeleteThe reno looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm packing my bags. I assume you've marked Mr HB's study as 'Gypsy's Room'? See you tomorrow.
