... not a sprint.
You see at just Day Two of the school holidays, I panicked. Poor Argy and Bargy both have croup. So I wheeled out the craft supplies. All of them. At once.
The boys worked frenetically: cutting, pasting, drawing. folding, bending, colouring, threading, sticking. Think locusts and crops. Piranhas and .... well, I think you get the picture. Mountains of supplies
Day 3 is looking grim.
Suggest telly. Or drugs. Or both. For the boys. Or you. Or both!
ReplyDeletetelevisions or reading books (exciting books) might be a good idea. if there is any type of drawing material left, doodle stories from the books? but the drug suggestion would work too :p
ReplyDeleteGive them a day of mind numbing TV and they forget all about the craft stuff... and you can bring it out again like it is new! But drip-feed this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nikki...
ReplyDeleteHee hee, darn I hate it when that happens but I have so been there.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the rest of the school holidays, may you all last the distance :)
ReplyDeleteHell. I wish I had read this post yesterday. Before Day Three began.
ReplyDeleteMy 8 year old checked out http://www.mistermaker.com/
ReplyDeletetoday and came away with a whole list of things he wanted to make. Have you seen it? Might be something left in your craft stash for these projects. I've actually promised to make softies with my boys (their choices from the Softies, More Softies and Plushorama books I have) and then we'll do some for the Softies for Mirabel project. And then it will be back to school. Well, that's the plan, anyway.
A marathon indeed, I have just jogged up the hill and hoping the drinks station is around the corner.
ReplyDeleteOh my what a way to start the holidays. Hope they give you a break although if they feel crappy chances are you have them permanently attached to you. Thankfully mine are very happy all rugged up outside playing in the mud!
