Eye Spy... my secret (food) shame

I am playing along with Cindy's Eye Spy meme each Sunday. This week the gorgeous Jade from Just Needs Salt has suggested that we reveal something that we love to eat, but are not proud to admit.

So, here is my secret food shame. Yes, of course .... its mother's little helper: cooking chocolate.

Eaten only in emergencies. Yet consumed with curious regularity. The high cocoa butter and low cocoa mass ensures a sense of cheapness and disappointment. But on a bad day, it will usually suffice. Just. Especially if its the whole block.

Thank you Cindy for hosting Eye Spy and to Jade for the fun theme. To see who else is playing, head over here.

  1. You've always got to have stand by foods for emergencies. Perhaps I should put some in my desk drawer at work!

  3. That's why I always buy 'Plaistowe' as my cooking chocolate. It's not so bad to eat in an emergency.... and it's also why I usually have an 'only for emergencies' block of Green and Blacks in my bedside table. Sssh. Don't tell.

  4. Hee hee, yes, I'll only buy chocolate chips that taste good - uncooked. You never know when a bad day might require desperate measures! (Mr Tacc thinks it's horrible, me snarfing choc chips).

  6. I'm with you on that one. ANy port in a storm.... and it's often a bit stormy.... if you squint your eyes a bit.

I often buy Lindt 80% cocoa chocky "to make a flourless chocolate cake". I used to be famous (amongst friends) for making wickedly rich cakes. Now I'm famous (at my house at least...a dn probably at the local supermarket) for buying lots of chocolate and never producing the cakes.

  7. When I was a kid, my mum used to tell me that I would get a very bad tummy ache from eating cooking chocolate - it is only of late that I have realised this was a ruse to stop me devouring it when her back was turned. Geez how she must have laughed....

  9. Well yes, I'd be with you on that one if it wasn't for my husband who gets there first!

  10. Hahaha no way! That's almost as bad as my one! Yes, we've all eaten the cooking chocolate, and always regret it. My dad was getting desperate for chocolate the other day, but I warned him no matter how desperate you are, cooking chocolate is just a place not worth going...!!
