Pretty things

I have recently been given some very beautiful notions for my sewing, so I thought I would share them with you. I love looking at pretty things - I hope you do too.

Today's pictures are of some wonderful family treasures. My very generous auntie gave these to me when she was visiting Melbourne last week. They're all from the maternal side of my family and the lace, in particular, is very old.

Tablecloth with crocheted lace border

Sentimetal treasure - I remember calling this a "fumble" when I was a child

Antique lace

Vintage buttons

More pretty things to look at later in the week.

  2. I am loving the prettiness over here. Love the lace. Love the buttons. And I LOVE the tablecloth. I'd be wheeling that out at every occasion. Too special to be hidden away. Gorgeous. What treasures.
PS - Love your fumble too.

  4. Fantabulous. Sweetly retro and lovely. I have some similar things from my Grandma, but I'm a bit scared to use them, they're so precious. How silly is that??

  6. WOW I have just been given lace from my Grandmothers estate. Big sheets of lace and really don't know what to do with it! I guess repack properly and stow away - just seems a shame.
