... that nobody notices until you .... S.T.O.P.
The fact is, I took this photo days ago. The situation has steadily declined. Imagine further sewing trimmings and bits of food and other miscellany that seems to fall off small boys. Disgusting.
You see we've all been sick. Mr HB was struck down with a man-cold and both the boys have had some nasty winter bug. Argy is on the mend, but poor Bargy has pneumonia and feeling very poorly. And me? I'd like to think that I have one of those noble mother, martyr-illnesses. The sort where you forge on regardless, insisting that you'll be OK. You know: its just a flesh wound.
But actually, I'm not that noble. And neither is my poor Bargy. So he and I plan to take heed of this highly informative instructional video about man-colds posted by Potty Mouth Mama. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander and all that sort of thing.
And it doesn't mention a thing about vacuuming.
Oh, hey..forget martyrdom. If I feel bad, I am NOT wasting precious energy on vacuuming. It takes a while longer for the carpet to start sprouting mushrooms..you should be well in time to prevent that! :p
ReplyDeletesorry you all are not feeling well. Hope you are all better soon.
ReplyDeleteuuugggghhh vacuuming...the worst job in the world. I say make a cup of tea and put your feet up and get well!
ReplyDeleteOH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO the dreaded man cold. Where they are on the brink of death 'oh woe is me, I'm soooooooo sick, I'm dying"
ReplyDeleteHope your household is cold free soon!
Caleb (who is 3) was trying to help me with the vacuuming yesterday taking 10 times longer than it need to. I somehow think though that he will not be offering when he is old enough to be helpful. It's a cruel irony.
ReplyDeleteHope poor Bargy is feeling brighter soon! "Man colds" are the worst.
ReplyDeleteSounds awful, poor things! Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteOh you poor things! And having to deal with a man-cold too!
ReplyDeleteThere is NOTHING worse than when everyone else is sick, but regardless, the mama has to keep soldiering on. I say you just get a bigger bell, and tutor Mr HB on saying 'Poor little mother bunny'.
ReplyDeleteForget the mess. I am sure it's nothing in comparison to mine.
Rest up!
Thanks for the video...good laugh.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get though the 'man cold' phase soon. hang in there!
I had to chuckle reading this, man cold and all. Isn't that the truth!! I hope you all feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, sickness in our house too. Little Che has his first tummy bug and does not want to be anywhere else but in my arms. Hence, no washing, vacuuming, dishes done. What can you do? Just blog about it, it feels slightly productive I think. get better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! Have lots of yummy chicken soup and hot water with lemon and honey :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted this, that is so true, I sometimes feel like my Dh thinks that all I do is have fun at home, I am cleaning all day, I sweep the floor at least 6 times a day and I would be vacuuming too if I did not roll up my rugs for the summer, My job is non stop, it sure felt nice to see that I am not the only one who feels the way I do, take care...still enjoying your blog!
ReplyDeletePoor thing! Hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteAbout once a month or so, I have to clean out the roller on my vacuum - too many threads!
