Here is a little collaborative project that I worked on with Argy and Bargy. Its our first homemade birthday card.
I did the folding, drawing, cutting and initial gluing. They did all the sprinkling of the chopped up yarn onto the glue ... as well as various locations around the house.
If you recognise the colour of the yarn, then the answer is yes: I have recklessly hacked into the ball that I am also using to try and crochet the granny square. Something always has to suffer for the art.
To make a similar fluffy bear card:
- Print and trace this guy onto medium-weight cardstock
- Cut up your yarn into small pieces - lots of them ... unless you prefer a bit of a threadbare teddy
- Apply a thick layer of craft glue to the bear in strategic places
- Sprinkle the yarn all over the bear, then shake off the excess
If you are aged between 1 and 3 years, remember to spread what is left over around the house - Gently press the wool fur down, so that the glue bonds
- Allow to dry before patting!
I love this idea!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!! What a great idea. I might give this a go with my little dude, he loves sending mail!
ReplyDeleteLovely idea - my only question, can one spread their stuff all over the house even if they are over 3 years of age ?
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea! my boys would love this. :o)
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute....in my house, I'm the one who spreads crafty mess all over the house!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute !
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to say our last few cards to go with gifts have been some crappy scribbles the boy has done, folded in half !
:p
A very good idea! My nephew will love doing this!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm finally catching up on all your posts (reading from the top) and I wanted to post a comment on each and every one of them - the throw-together-vege meal (yuuum), the postage-boy, the walking foot which I'd love to get my hands on one day (that would be when I actually do some sewing...) and now this little bear-beauty. Love your work!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable idea! I know what I'll be doing with the tots tomorrow while Daddy is off at work :)
