Heaven... I'm in heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak.
And I seem to find the happiness I seek,
When ...
OK, I concede it is a little difficult to imagine Fred Astaire finishing this with:
... I'm at the Quilting and Craft Fair
But my heart certainly did beat a little faster as I went through the doors of the fair yesterday. I had the loveliest afternoon perusing all the stands; imagining the possibilities.
Argy slept like a lamb in the pram for the duration. I ploughed through the list:
- Fabric for more applique diggers, cement mixers and other construction equipment. Check.
- Advice about the new Janome walking foot. Check.
- Cute bunting pattern for decorating Argy and Bargy's play room. Check.
- Impulse-buy gadgets; things that I didn't even know I needed. Check. Check. Check. And check.
Yup, definitely found the happiness I sought.
oooh, i have one of those yo yo makers too (still in packet but you know, thought that counts rah rah). would love to see your reverse engineered top.

Love all your goodies! Nothing like going to a craft fair to get your creative energy humming.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun - and good on Argy for napping through the whole thing (I bet a lot of men wish they could do that when dragged along on shopping expeditions). Looking forward to seeing the new things you make.
ReplyDeleteIm off to buy my crochet needle and yarn today! Yay!
your haul looks great - can't wait to see the end of result! When will you be starting? I looked a the Janome walking foot and tried to buy one - but the stand was so busy, and I didn't have any time to waste.
ReplyDeleteI missed the last two shows, thanks to zero finances, so I am planning ahead this time, and dropping coins in a jar to at least have entrance fees to see all the inspiration, if disaster strikes again! lol I can't wait! And lucky you Argy sleeping the whole time! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd I am lusting after a Janome walking foot, too...I always seem to be dealing with weird materials that needs one.
Oooh, nice! Loving the look of all that great fabric!!
ReplyDeleteI, too, felt a quickening in my heart as I walked through the entrance (knowing that I was coming home with my jarrah cotton reel stand!). So much easier with a sleeping boy, isn't it. Mine insisted on running around touching everything!
ReplyDelete:))))
ReplyDeleteLucky girl!
I was so busy with the cupcakes and the noodle boxes that I didn't make it, but I wished I could have! Have you used the yo-yo maker yet? They are great, I love them! And there is nothing like a good sewing machine foot. My favourite is the teflon. Sad, but true.
ReplyDeleteI was there too and had lots of fun. So many things to look at and lots of temptation. I went on Saturday and got there early to avoid the crowds. That worked until about 10.15 and then it got crazy. Glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteYou have to post a review of the Janome foot once you've had a chance to try it out. I'd love to know whether I should go and buy one!
ReplyDeleteHa1 The impulse purchases that you didn't even know you needed are the best - in my humble opinion!
ReplyDeleteI totally stayed away from this place as it was just a temptation of fabric and goodies that I'm forbidden (still) to go near! Glad it was a goodie though.
